His academic journey encompasses various disciplines, starting with a B.A. in Political Science and an M.A. in History from the Universidad de los Andes in Colombia, followed by a History PhD from the University of Montreal.

Diego is an interdisciplinary scholar with a BA in Sociology and a Research Master’s in Social Sciences from the UvA. He was coordinator for the Amsterdam Research Centre for Gender & Sexuality and junior lecturer for the department of Sociology at the UvA.
